With the new year comes yet another new release of The Descry of Music. For this release, I thought that to celebrate the new year, I could give you guys music suggestions from newly released albums. The special part about these albums is that all of them were released on Friday, September 18th, so they’re sort of like sister albums. I hope you enjoy these suggestions and think about giving them a listen!

Song: Memories
Artist: Beabadoobee
Genre: Indie Rock
For my first song, I chose “Memories” from Beabadoobee’s newest album, Pylon. I personally thought the album was alright, but Memories was one of my favorites when I listened to it. It’s a very sweet song centered around the idea of loving someone and feeling like you belong when you’re with them, and it might be a good listen in the hoco season!

Song: Anybody’s Fool
Artist: Lizzy McAlpine
Genre: Indie
My second song in this volume is “Anybody’s Fool” from Lizzy McAlpine’s newest album Angel. I really enjoyed this song the first time that I listened to the album, and it ended up being the first song from the album that I actually added to my liked songs. As the title suggests, the song has a more somber tone and a really soothing melody and backing track. Her soft vocals really set the mood for the song, and it feels as though you could just melt into the song. It truly was a listening experience for me, and I think it’s my favorite song from the album.

Song: Promise (When You Go)
Artist: After
Genre: Alt Rock
My third and final song in this volume is “Promise (When You Go)” from After’s new album Fell Asleep in the Sun. This song is soooo incredible. I love this whole album and the vocals throughout the songs. The main vocalist’s voice is incredible, and it gives a very 2000s alternative sound sometimes. This whole album is amazing, but this song really caught my attention with the high and low parts and the heavy beat vs soft/light beat.
