Club Spotlight: Crochet Club

Clubs

Ram Report’s latest featured club is the newly formed Crochet Club! The crochet club was formed last year to bring students together so that they could bond over the art of crocheting. Crocheting is a process of creating textiles by using a hook to interlock loops of yarn, but don’t worry if you’ve never heard of this before. This club is also open to new members, who don’t know or are just learning how to crochet!

Recently, the crochet club began to crochet for service hours by logging the time they crocheted for a specific project and donating it. The crochet club is actively creating objects like hats and blankets to donate to the national nonprofit, Warm Up America, who monitor events around the US for national disasters like wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and cold weather. In these events, they provide warm blankets, hats, scarves, and various clothing items to those in need.

The Crochet Club meets on Day 4 for the entire Lunch period in Ms. Brooks’ room but doesn’t require you to attend the entire meeting. Anyone interested in crochet or learning how to crochet can attend. Hope to see you there!
