The U.S. has started to clutch more medals at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Lindsey Jacobellis took home her second gold medal by finishing first in mixed-gendered team snowboardcross with her teammate, Nick Baumgartner. This experience was slightly different for Nick, as this was his first time winning an Olympic medal. As for the U.S. men’s hockey team, they won against Canada; the final score was 4-2.  In ice dancing, both U.S. teams secured a medal position after completing the rhythm dance section.

Jordan Stolz, 17, was the youngest out of 30 of the fastest meter racers in the world race. Although he was not able to take a medal home, he was able to learn how it feels to compete in the Olympics. He said, “It’s more so different in practice every day. It’s just … everyday it’s changing,” said Stolz. “And I sharpen my skates a certain way; like last night for today. And then it was different.” Stolz ended up finishing 13th with a time of 34.85 seconds in the 500-meter. Despite not placing on the podium, he was still happy about the way he performed. Stoltz states, “I’m pretty happy with the lap. The opener just wasn’t quite there. But everything else was good”.

Charley Hoffman, a four-time PGA Tour winner, made an Instagram post that was flaming both the PGA Tour and USGA over a penalty on his 13th hole. Reports state that it was not looking so good for Hoffman after his tee shot ended up in the water. He did not have any problems with the penalty stroke, but after the drop, he hit his ball back into the water. Hoffman blamed the PGA Tour for the location of the penalty area and said that the USGA should not write the rules at such a high level of playing.
