With Midterm grades being released, classes ramping up with new assignments, and students packing their schedules with extracurricular activities, we can finally mark this time as the fall season. Within this academic rush of homework and projects, another event takes place within the school: the fall play. This year’s product is “Harvey”, a comedic play written by Mary Chase in 1944. The play follows Elwood P. Dowd, a kind, polite man, who insists his best friend is an invisible six-foot rabbit, a Pooka, as he calls it. As his well-meaning sister, Veta Louise Simmons, attempts to have him committed to a sanitarium to protect her social reputation, the story brings humorous events and a heartfelt ending, making the play a very immersive experience for various types of audience members. This play was performed from Friday, October 24th, to Sunday, the 26th, in the Rose Theater of the Miami Valley School.

The actors put a great deal of effort into the production of this play, as well as the crew and director, Audrey Miller. Actors include: Caleb Meeker as Elwood P. Dowd, Elessandra Kmucha as Veta Louise Simmons, Quinlyn Tyler as Myrtle Mae Simmons, Carson Hagerty as Dr. William R. Chumley, Bani Chattopadhyay as Ruth Kelly, Michael McCallum as Duane Wilson, Trip Peterson as Dr. Lyman Sanderson, Sydney Wright as Judge Omar Gaffney, Gracianna Christ as Betty Chumley, Mar Shoup as E.J. Lofgren, Aliyah Rose-Landon as Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet, and Emelia Kmucha as Miss Johnson.
