As the school year ends, one of the many things on our minds is saying goodbye to our beloved seniors. While an emotional, tearful goodbye is inevitable, what is important now is to reminisce on our shared past and celebrate their successes. This year, we celebrate Patience Peterson and Yuyan Liu, two students who have been with Ram Report for two years, exhibiting the core values of the Miami Valley School through comics, articles, and insight.
Patience Peterson
Patience Peterson has been at the Miami Valley School since fourth grade, including herself in many extracurricular activities such as swimming and leading the film club, book club, and the Spanish Honors Society. In the past two years, Patience has been known across the school for her expressive, entertaining comics about her pet cat, Pixy Dust. These comics have opened Patience’s imaginative mind to the students at MVS, bringing much discussion and curiosity to the Ram Report. Along with her comics, Patience has dabbled in writing articles, including her article at the beginning of the year about the changing culture of MVS, and her more recent article about one of the Peterson family’s favorite television series, The Middleman. Overall, Patience Peterson has shown herself to be a flexible, entertaining character, both in her writing and during meetings.
Yuyan Liu
Yuyan Liu has been at the Miami Valley School since sixth grade, participating in extracurricular activities such as tennis, swimming, and book club, and leading the yearbook, music, and crochet clubs. The past two years, Yuyan has been a consistent force in the comics section of Ram Report, drawing entertaining comics each month featuring a wide variety of characters in different situations. Yuyan’s art features bright, intriguing colors and expressive chibi characters. Yuyan has shown admirable consistency in her work, publishing comics in every edition this year and in a multitude of editions last year. Although Yuyan joined Ram Report later in her high school career, she is one of the leading members and role models of the club.
