Movie Reviews

Opinion

During the month of September, I watched 3 movies: Coyote vs. ACME, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and finally Twisted Pair.

Coyote vs. ACME is an amazing comedy family movie, with adults and teens recognizing all/most of the characters from Looney Tunes. Watching this movie in theaters also felt like it was the best way to watch it, which is what I say for most movies, but for the reason that this movie almost wasn’t released. The movie was fully shot, edited, and test screenings were doing well, then Warner Brothers pulled the movie from release in 2023 for a tax write-off. Ketchup Entertainment was fortunate to get the rights to put this movie in theaters, which took them 3 years to do, so watching this movie shows Hollywood that these types of movies are what we want.

The second movie that I watched was Everything Everywhere All at Once, and I could ramble on about this movie for hours, but I won’t. The movie is so good, splitting into three parts, with them appropriately named “Everything,” “Everywhere,” and “All at Once.” This movie has a great premise with the idea of what if I chose to do something else instead of the option I actually did; it’s like things you think about in the shower and ponder if you messed up by picking one tiny thing over the other. I wish I saw this movie in theaters, and I wanted to, but I just never had the time. If you ever are bored and need something to do, watch this movie; it will change you.

The final movie that I watched was made on a budget of $7,073; it’s Twisted Pair. This movie is so bad in the best way, with the acting, pacing, and overarching story that changes randomly; the director, Neil Breen, who is also the writer and main actor, takes himself so seriously, which makes it so much better with his poor line delivery and bad fight scenes. I recommend watching this movie on a couch with your favorite group of friends; that’s how I watched it and had so much fun because you’re not just watching this movie for yourself but to laugh with others. You’re with people you care about, so you start to just make fun of the delivery of lines. You can tell this movie was made one night on a college campus, with the main building being just a normal college building, and it only being in the dark, with the exception of a bad, recurring green screen and his house: great bad film.
