The Descry Of Music vol. 2

Opinion Pop Culture

Holding to my promise in the previous edition of Ram Report, I present yet another volume of The Descry of Music. 3 new artists, and 3 new songs. These are all artists I’ve found throughout my skimming of music on the internet, and that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed!

1.

Artist: Gordon’s Grandson

Genre: Alt-pop

Song: My Lover Girl

I learned about Gordon’s Grandson in the summer of ‘24 while looking at some of the artists I followed/saved on Instagram. I heard a snippet of his song My Lover Girl and instantly fell in love with his use of vocal layering and instrumentation. To me, his music is very movie soundtrack worthy, and houses that feeling of teenage experience through his instrumentals.

2.

Artist: Faith Zapata

Genre: Alternative, Indie

Song: On the Table

Faith Zapata is an artist I’ve followed for a long time, but has recently become one of my favorite artists. Faith Zapata’s use of vocals, including small, soft runs and vocal flips paired with her light guitar and unique strumming patterns create a very emotional sound that truly captures your attention. Faith Zapata’s On the Table is a song that has been on repeat for me for weeks! It’s one of the many singles that she’s released (no albums or EP’s) and is the one in which her vocals and lyricism really strum on my heartstrings and is truly just addictive.

3.

Artist: RC AVENUE

Genre: Pop R&B

Song: Got it All

If you’re into Bruno Mars, RC AVENUE has a similar sound, especially in Got it All. He uses a very upbeat rhythm and big vocals to create a catchy sound. I came across him in a very similar way to Gordon’s Grandson and immediately added him to my playlist! I would really recommend him if you’re into pop music and strong vocals.
