As the Fall Sports season concludes, many achievements can be highlighted across all of the sports. In particular, the MVS varsity cross country team had a very successful season. The last two meets, the Metro Buckeye Conference and the OHSAA District Championships, yielded successful outcomes for both the women’s and men’s teams.
The Metro Buckeye Conference, hosted by Emmanuel Christian, occurred on Friday, October 10th. Overall, the girls’ team took third place, with Bani Chattopadhyay and Mar Shoup placing 29th and 28th, respectively. Zoe Boulton-Dang placed 24th, Mac Walts placed 21st, and Ciara Dwyer took the title of the Metro Buckeye Conference Champion, with a 1st place finish.
The following weekend, the MVS boys team had great success, as they qualified as a team for the OHSAA Regional Championships for the second consecutive year. The qualifying team includes Lochlan Dwyer, Owen Guy, Gavin Bohr, Nikhil Richter, and Alden Pachman. Additionally both Lochlan Dwyer and Owen Guy qualified individually for the Regional meet. Owen Guy ran an all-time PR of 18:04.7.
This past weekend, the boys team raced at regionals with an impressive finish to their season. Highlighting Lochlan Dwyer who placed 14th individually and ran a season PR of 17:07.
