Homecoming Weekend + Harvest Photos!

Lifestyle School News

The Miami Valley School is marking the start of the 2025–26 school year with Homecoming, Spirit Week, and the annual Harvest Gathering. Homecoming will take place September 27th at the Country Club of the North with an “Alice in Wonderland” theme. Tickets are $20 if purchased by Friday the 26th at 2:05 PM or $25 at the door. Tickets are being sold at school by Student Government members.

Many events transpire during the homecoming season. This week is Spirit Week (Sept. 22–26) and features PJ Day, Jersey Day / Anything but a Backpack Day, Country vs. Country-Club Day, Intergenerational Day, and finally Spirit Day (Red and Blue colors). The MVS Pep Rally takes place on Friday in the Lane Gymnasium, and the Run for the Rams 5K takes place Saturday.

There are many longstanding traditions during the first month of school. Convocation celebrates the final year for our seniors, along with the first year of school for many lower school and new students. Upper School’s First Friday allows students to come together as grades and advisories, and the Harvest Gathering enables us to come together as a community and celebrate what we’ve built over the years.

This year’s Harvest Gathering, which was on September 12th, is one of the school’s longest-standing traditions, uniting all divisions of parents, students, and faculty. The event originally began as a “Harvest Festival” where student-grown plants from the Z-Lab were distributed. The event has changed and expanded to include food trucks, student performances, and popular activities such as pumpkin painting. This year’s food trucks included Cupzilla Korean BBQ, Big Dogs Pizza, El Meson, Schmidt’s Sausage, Billie Gold Bubble Tea, Zaki Grill, and Sweet P’s Ice Pops. For the past three years, the most popular event with the families of MVS has been the pumpkin painting.

Remember, Homecoming is Saturday at 7:30 PM, and you must arrive by 8 PM, so get ready for teatime and follow that rabbit and hop on over to the Country Club of the North. Don’t be late, late, late, for this very important date of September 27th.
