As a new student, I was advised to join different things. Just to get myself out there. You got to get to know people somehow. I’ve been a runner for a while, so naturally, I joined the cross-country team. And through that, I think I’ve gotten to know people. Joining a new school is kinda scary, but I tried my best to find my people. And through cross country, I believe I’m starting to do just that.
Now, I’m not writing this article to say that many people here have no friends. It seems to be quite the contrary. But for me, it’s the best. For the most part, I look forward to doing cross country (I can only say for the most part. Running is running at the end of the day). If I wasn’t in cross country, I’m not quite sure what I’d do. Luckily for us, we don’t have to explore that alternate timeline. D&D club is always an option…
And is this article designed to have a double meaning, to convince you to join cross country next year? Perhaps. I do have you thinking it, so you might as well.
