From Friday, October 20, through Sunday, October 22, the Miami Valley Upper School performed “Who Killed Aunt Caroline.” This play explores a wide range of characters and their motives for this murder and examines their many attributes. The characters in question are the Endicott family, a seemingly normal bunch, but it is revealed that one of them has murdered Aunt Caroline! The play takes place in the living room of the Endicott home in Middleton, a small mid-western city, and is set during WWII. The audience is taken through the exploration of the murder itself and the family’s motives, along with the solving of this case. The cast of this play did an extraordinary job of fully embodying their characters and creating an amazing stage presence. “Who Killed Aunt Caroline” was an exciting watch, and it left the audience at the edge of their seats with its many twists and turns.

“Who Killed Aunt Caroline” was directed by the Miami Valley School’s middle school French teacher, Kyle Mercuri, and had a cast of 12 students. This included Ellie Kmuch as Mrs. Eleanor Endicott, Giulia Boni as Agnes Endicott, Caleb Meeker as Riccy Endicott, Brihanna Howell as Beryl Endicott, Raaihda Ameen as Cicely Endicott, Alana Write as Aunt Caroline, Anya Paliwal as Miss Mabbit, Reed Meeker as Dave Thompson, Klaos Massey as Dan Donovan, Larah Varghese as Miss Maclain, Ryleigh Manuel as Una Hagman, and Johnathan Pickens as Lieutenant Clayton. The setting created for “Who Killed Aunt Caroline” was very creative and gave the vibe of a house in its set time period, while still being an area that the cast could easily move and interact in. Overall, the cast and crew did a great job. Congratulations everyone!
