Favorite: Unique Aspect of MVS

Opinion Senior vs Freshman

Written by Yuvi Gupta

Today we asked freshmen and seniors what their favorite unique aspect of MVS is. The freshman tended to prefer larger events that recently occurred, such as Harvest Fest and Homecoming. The seniors, on the other hand, favored smaller-scale traditions.

For instance, one senior said they enjoy how the upper school band gets donuts every Friday. They explained that it becomes a nice small activity that makes everybody happy.

A common answer from both the senior and freshmen classes was immersion.

This, in my opinion, is due to the principle of immersion; immersive experiences serve to unite people. All Upper Schoolers, with the exception of 9th graders, can participate in any immersion they are interested in, allowing for an in-depth investigation of a subject they are passionate about. It is fascinating how the community can bring people together, and immersion enables new friendships and connections!
